Fine Photographica & Instruments of Science & Medicine

Sale 0005 – 26th & 27th April 2018

Our April fine sale of Photographica & Instruments of Science & Medicine is a two-day sale held at the West Reservoir Centre, Green Lanes, London N4 2HA. The venue has ample free parking or if you are coming by tube the nearest station is Manor House on the Piccadilly Line. From Manor House station, we are a 10 minute walk down Green Lanes.

The first day features a good selection of microscopes and accessories. This section includes one of the sale highlights, an Adams’ “Variable” microscope C.1772 (lot 2) . This is the first time that we are aware an Adams’ “Variable” has come to sale at auction. Only a few are known to exist and this is one of the most original and complete examples known.

Following the microscopes, we are offering a rather fine collection of medical instruments put together by a private collector over many years.

We also have a large collection of stereo viewer and optical toys from a single collector including stereoscopes, zograscopes, Kinoras, biunial Magic lanterns to name but a few.

The second day focuses on cameras and photographic equipment. Starting at lot 1001, we begin with a fantastic example of a Leica Elmax, serial number 360, followed by a further 130 lots of Leica cameras, lenses and accessories.

After our Leica section, there will be a fine selection of 35mm, medium / large format, rare and exotic lenses and motion picture equipment. The sale includes good examples of Hasselblad, Rollei, Voiglander, Nikon, Dallmeyer and many other top makers
