A Gould-Type Microscope by Crutchton

English, c.1830/40, signed 'Crutchton 112 Leadenhall St, London', The rectangular sectioned pillar screws into a boss on the top of the case lid, a concave mirror pins into the base of the column, the stage is screwed into a bracket moved by rackwork for focusing, a small limb at the top has a thread to accept the simple lenses or the lenses in combination with the compound body tube, with other various accessories and slides, in mahogany case with catches, box 16.3cm x 11.2cm x 4.7cm.
