English, c.1890, unsigned, originally for spinning Geissler tubes, with four terminals, two to power the motor and the other two to supply the high voltage to the arm (missing) that hold the Geissler tube, motor with 4 coils, adjustable brush on sprung arm, friction brake to the rear to regulate speed, height 39cm tall.
