French, c. 1880, signed in script to the lock Maison Carriere & Cie and on many of the instruments, set including trepanning instruments, cauteries, amputation knives and a saw, a large and impressive brass tourniquet, a few substitutions/additions by other French makers of the period, housed in brass bound satinwood case , case 41cm wide
