Austrian, c.1860, by Josef Hyrtl, contained in a French polished mahogany slip case with a leather label with gold lettering to the top of the lid which reads Systema uropoeticum homonis, mammalium et avium each slide made of a 45x30mm piece of ebony which contains a central cavity into which the injected specimen is placed in balm below a glass cover, with printed label to the rear, 24 slides
