Adams, George, Essays on the Microscope

second edition, 4to, London, Dillion and Keating, 1789, 32 engraved plates, mostly folding, first published in 1787, but here with both the text and illustrations greatly expanded, contemporary calf (rebacked, rubbed, corners a little worn) marbled end papers, book-label of Theophilus Jones of Brecon - Welsh lawyer, known as a historian of Brecknockshire. At the end is an 8 page catalogue of ‘Optical, Mathematical and Philosophical Instruments made and sold by W & S Jones, including the original advert for this very book.
