A Large 19th Century French Compound Microscope Outfit

French, c. 1877, signed in script to the body tube ‘Mon E. Hart & A. Praz A Prazmowski sucr, Rue Bonaparte, 1. Paris’, Standing on a heavy lead-filled ‘Y’ shaped base with tall support to the back, at the top are trunnions supporting the microscope to the underside of the stage, plano-concave mirror in a gimbal on an articulated arm, stage with focusing substage mount, simple stage with ebonite top plate and two clips, microscope can be rotated around the optical axis with a split stage, fine focus via screw with course focus via rack and pinion, body tube with single drawer tube, large French polished cabinet containing 6 numbered eyepieces, two substage accessories, large table bullseye, case of other accessories, green leather-covered case numbered 19266 with nine objectives all numbered and three stops, case with two locks with single key, with original catalogue dated 1877 and original table of lens combination strengths. Case measures 38cm wide.
