WWII

A WWII bronze ship's tompion from HMS Bermuda (pennant number 52, later C52). The Bermuda was a Crown Colony-class light cruiser of the British Royal Navy. She was completed during World War II and served in that conflict. She was named for the British territory of Bermuda, and was the eighth vessel of that name, 15 cm dia., together with a bronze ship's crest from the WWII HMS Ulysses, a U-class destroyer of the British Royal Navy that saw service during WWII. She was later converted into a type 15 fast anti-sumarine frigate with the new pennent number F17. In June 1944 she assisted with the invasion of Normandy, providing naval gunfire support, 16 cm x 11.5 cm (2)
