An early twentieth-century bicorn hat

formerly the property of the late Lieutenant Herbert 'Ginger' Le Breton. Le Breton, whose obituary was published in the Daily Telegraph Oct 1997, was the only sailor to take part in the mutiny of the Altantic Fleet at Invergordon on September the 15th 1931and then go on to be commissioned as an officer,

The felt bicorn hat with silk lining bears the maker's label for Gieves Ltd. 21 Old Bond Street, Edinburgh, and with sub-lieutenant epaulettes, embroidered garters and cloth badges, presented in an original metal hatbox.

Hat 42.5 cm W, the box 47 cm W
