Notes: Engraved to the base of the camera is 'Lord Maclay of Glasgow, Scotland along with a card in the back of the case that reads 'Hon J P Maclay MP, House of Commons, London England'.

Provenance: Formerly the property of Joseph Paton Maclay, 2nd Baron Maclay (1899–1969), Scottish shipowner, banker and Liberal politician. Lord Maclay served as Member of Parliament for Paisley from 1931 to 1945 and later sat in the House of Lords following his succession to the title in 1951. Chairman of the Glasgow shipping firm Maclay & McIntyre and a prominent figure in British banking and maritime affairs, he also served in the Ministry of War Transport during the Second World War. He was a member of a distinguished Scottish family associated with Duchal House, Renfrewshire.
