cabinet, English, c. 1870, unsigned but in the manner of Smith & Beck, constructed of French polished mahogany on a plinth base, glazed door to front with lock and key containing 21 drawers each capable of holding 24 standard slides, each drawer with an ebony pull with number in the centre and two porcelain labels, each drawer lined with blue velvet, contains mainly professionally prepared slides including some by; C. M. Topping, Edmund Wheeler, F. J. Cox many with the retail label for Smith, Beck & Beck 6 Coleman St. (approximately 225 prepared slides)
