C.1800, Italian (?), unsigned, red Moroccan leather covered case, with gold tooling to edges single brass catch to front, inside case lined with light blue velvet, lid lined with cream silk, microscope with thin tortoiseshell sides, a low power magnifying glass hinges out at one end, a high power lens with a silver Leiberkuhn folds out to other end, a finely made articulated arm folds up from behind a shield shaped plaque to hold specimens to be viewed, the plaque engraved ‘AC’
