19th century, an excise officer's slide rule for calculating alcohol duty, in boxwood and brasswith two slides, engraved with owner's name 'Chas Gale', brass guagepoints for Imperial gallon, Imperial bushel, malt round, malt square, scale for segment lying, segment standing, malt depth etc., length 24 cm; a mahogany cased rolling rule by Stanley, 15.5cm, unusually small for this model; with a presentation cased set of drawing instruments by E Davis, Leeds, the drawing handle (detached) in bone, (confirmed as bone, clearly showing the marks of blood vessels) , plaque engraved 'To P Buzza from the Engineers L.C.E.L.D.', case 18cm
