Flints Photograph department holds Fine Auctions twice a year. Our next sale is on 21th/22nd May 2020. The closing date for entries is 6th April 2020. We already have an interesting selection of work by important photographers including David Bailey, Cecil Beaton, John Bulmer, Philippe Halsman, Bert Hardy, Gordon Parkes, Alexander Rodchenko, Vavara Rodchenko, and Jan Saudek

Flints sales feature photographs from all periods from the earliest techniques through to collectable late 20th century images.

20th Century subjects include modernist art photography, fashion photography, documentary and photojournalism.  Past sales have achieved excellent prices for works by Cecil Beaton, Ruth Bernhard,  John Bulmer, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Lucinda Douglas-Menzies, Gillian Edelstein, Philippe Halsman,  Bert Hardy, Germaine Krull, John Minihan, José Ortiz Echagüe, Gordon Parkes, Steve Pyke, Ken Regan, George Roger, Jan Saudek, Lord Snowdon, Graham Smith and many others.

There is a good market for 19th Century photographs with interesting subject matter; exotic travel and documentary photographs, significant portraits, early erotic images, and the later Victorian pictorialism with landscape and genre subjects. Daguerreotypes, calotypes, salt prints, albumen and platinum prints all feature in our sales. Recent sales have achieved excellent results for works by David Octavius Hill & Robert Adamson, Charles Aubrey, Roger Fenton, John Moffat, Paul Nadar, Theodor Parr Henry Peach Robinson, Charles Thurston Thompson, T R Williams and stereoviews by Ferrier & Soulier.

Please see our news items for updates on the May 2020 photograph auction. Contact Flints before 6th April this year if you wish to consign photographs to this sale.
