Flints Photograph department holds Fine Auctions twice per year. Our next sale is 29th November 2019. These sales are very well publicised, promoted in relevant publications, social media and at fairs. The catalogues produced for our fine sales are in full colour and are fully illustrated. They are sent to collectors, institutes and museums across the world. The catalogues produced by Flints are valuable reference works used and trusted by leading collectors and institutes.

Keith Petts heads the photograph department, bringing to bear 35 years experience in the art and antique trade. Flints sales feature photographs from all periods from the earliest techniques through to collectable late 20th century images. Our Fine Photograph auctions feature:

There is a strong market for 19th Century photographs with interesting subject matter; exotic travel and documentary photographs, significant portraits, early erotic images, and the later Victorian pictorialism with landscape and genre subjects. We already have some fine quality Victorian photographs consigned for our 29th November 2019 sale, including examples by Charles Aubry, Francis Bedford,  J E Belloz (offical Rodin Museum photographer), G.Bergren,  Francis Frith, Roger Fenton, Fitz W Guerin, Robert Macpherson, Paul Nadar, Theodor Parr and Charles Winter. We are accepting consignments until 4th October 2019.

Moving forward, 20th Century subjects include modernist art photography, photojournalism and fashion photography. Our 29th November auction already has some very interesting photographs consigned, including work by Christopher Barker, Cecil Beaton, Ruth Bernhard, John Bulmer, Heni Cartier-Bresson, Lucinda Douglas-Menzies, Gillian Edelstein, Phillipa Halsman, The Harlips,  Bert Hardy, Colin Jones, Germaine Krull, Raymond Moore, Romuados Pozerskis, Gordon Parkes, John Passmore, Steve Pyke, Ken Regan, George Roger, Jan Saudek, Graham Smith, Vivienne, Dr Paul Wolfe and Jun Yoshida.
