Benjamin Martin,C.1770, English, unsigned but in the form of Benjamin Martin, contained in sharkskin covered case with brass handle, brass escutcheon and catches, green velvet lined interior, microscope stands on three folding brass feet with plano-concave mirror in a gimbal, stage with centre pivot, three apertures and hole for forceps and fish plate, compound body with slot to rear to fit to top of microscope, microscope with early form of screw operated fine focussing mechanism, microscope support with engraved number to correspond with objective powers, simple objectives engraved 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6, silvered Leiberkuhn with brass case and sleeve, Bonanni type stage, live box, set of sliders and a fishtail brass slider in a faux sharkskin case, stage forceps, microscope 30.5cm high, case 26cm wide
