An Exceptionally Large Cabinet of Microscope Slides

19th Century, constructed of French polished mahogany on plinth base, glazed door to front with lock and key, two campaign style handles to sides, containing 30 deep drawers each capable of holding 3 rows of 15 standard slides, large drawer at base for other accessories, all slides are prepared by 'Watson & Sons, London', drawers are generally arranged by subject and cover, entomology, minerology and geology, diatoms, natural history, marine biology, biology, histology and many other subjects, with original copy of Watsons 1933 catalogue of 'Objects For The Microscope', cabinet 93cm tall x 37cm deep x 50cm wide (approximately 1243 slides) Slides of Particular Note: 'Precious Opal, Black Opal In Matrix'; 'Gold Leaf Transmitting Green Light'; 'Fossil Tooth of Shark'; 'Fossil of Masterdon'; various exhibition Polycystina; various exhibition Spicules of Sponge; arranged butterfly wing parts; many full insect slides; a good selection of fine geology slides.
