COVID-19 Update 28/03/2020
We’re sure you are all aware of the rapidly changing situation regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We are committed to prioritising the safety of our customers and staff, acting immediately on the latest Government legislation and advice, and acting in a responsible way for the sake of our wider community.
In common with all other UK auction houses, Flints will no longer hold public auctions and our offices are no longer open to the visiting public. We will keep our customers informed but will not resume a full service until we receive Government advice that it is safe to do so. We are continuing to work, mostly working from home. Individual staff have volunteered to work in our office one-at-a-time, observing the strictest safety measures.
Our 19th March sale
There is a full report on this very successful sale on our news page. We have now packed and shipped almost all the items bought online in the March sale. We are now processing a few final lots where buyers had delayed payment. Our shippers continue to function normally as they are an essential service. We can also re-assure our vendors there will be no delay in our making payments.
Flints have the capacity to run its auctions as live, unattended events. Sales can be held with live internet bidding, commission bids and phone bids without the option to attend or bid in the room. We now use two separate online bidding platforms/websites (Flints Live & The Saleroom.com) allowing you to bid from home. We have demonstrated our ability to run successful sales under the current conditions and we are preparing to run our next Fine Photographica and Instruments of Science sale as an unattended event. Originally Scheduled for 21st of May, we still plan to hold the auction on that date or near to it.
New Youtube Condition Report Service
In the future, Flints will be providing YouTube videos to further reduce the need viewing in person. We will be using our specialist knowledge to provide really informative videos of lots, providing detailed images of key features and any discernable faults. Filming will be recorded in 4k Ultra HD in our well-lit live studio, to give you the closest experience to viewing in person.
We will continue to provide free valuations and advice to anyone considering selling items. Please contact us by email in the first instance.
We will continually review the guidance from the government and provide you with regular updates as and when the situation changes. In the meantime, to our customers across the globe, please stay safe.
