A Rare Met Office Pilot Balloon Slide Rule

English, c.1940, marked 'JAMES FARROW LONDON' and marked at the top 'PILOT BALLOON SLIDE RULE MARK 1' and marked with a met office logo and number 820/41, constructed of polished mahogany with applied white celluloid scales with 3 brass slides in a later fitted case

The Pilot Baalloon Slide Rule: originally used by the Meteorological Office to calculate the wind velocity from theodolite readings made with pilot-balloon observations.
