Provenance from the Vendor: The camera has been in my wife's family for as long as she can remember. It belonged to her father who was a very keen amateur photographer. She can't remember the story about the source of the camera, but her brother recalls that his father bought it from a German naval officer in Buenos Aires at the end of hostilities in World War II. He was in the Royal Navy during the war and is believed to have bought it there as the German sailors were unable to pay for food and were selling what they could in order to survive.
