English, 3/4 19th Century, plaque to inside of door reads W Watson & Son 313 High Holborn, London, constructed of French polished mahogany on plinth base, glazed door to front with lock and key, containing 28 drawers each capable of holding 3 rows of 12 standard slides, each drawer with pull with number in centre and porcelain labels to each side, professionally prepared slides by makers

including: many diatom slides by W. A. Firth, J D Moller, cabinet 57cm tall x 32cm deep x 39cm wide (approximately 500 slides)
