English, dated 1908, weights engraved 'LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL, 1908' and all numbered 3010, with many calibration verification and Exchequer marks, in a large French polished mahogany case with folding steel handles, catches with large lock, brass plaque to the lid reads ''LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL, DE GRAVE & CO LTD, LONDON', the weights of standard spherical or globe pattern in bronze consisting of 16 weights from 56lb down to 1/2dr with the small weights in a separate French polished velvet-lined mahogany case, case width 55cm.

Footnote: this set of weights was specially made to be used by the weights and measures department to calibrate any of the inspector's weights that were to be taken out on site.
