Microscope Slide, A Rare Diamond Micro-engraving by Ellis Lobb
English, 1858, paper-covered slide with hand-written description 'Microscopic Writing The Lord's Prayer EGL', viewed under microscope the prayer appears in a circle, undeneath is written 'Written by E G Lobb May 14 1858 with Mr Peter's Machine.
Notes: Ellis G Lobb was a member of the Royal Microscopical Society, the machine was designed by the banker William Peters in 1852.
