A set of ophthalmic instruments in a wooden box marked 'DOWN BROS AND MAYER PHELPS LONDON' case 16.5cm wide.
An ophthalmic instrument in a black leather-covered case by WEISS.
A large set of 12 ophthalmic instruments by WEISS in a black leatherette case, case width 16cm.
A small wooden case of ophthalmic instruments by WEISS.
A collection of boxed and unopened ophthalmic instruments by Down Bros and Mayer & Phelps.
Provenance - This is part of a collection of medical and surgical instruments once belonging to a past employee of the esteemed Down Brothers surgical instrument company, these captivating artifacts offer a glimpse into a bygone era.
When the company's doors closed, a large amount of sales samples and items from the design department were disposed of. These items here are all that was saved and all that remains of the original sales and design stock. These instruments were never used hence their remarkable condition
