Ancient Egyptian 4th - 9th Century Tunic Coptic Linen

Egyptian, 4th - 9th Century, heavy woven linen square (29cm x 29cm) with stitched on square section (23cm x 23cm) with black border, leaf design with secondary border, central image with 2 naked warriors with shields and 2 centaurs again with sheilds, mounted in a later frame

Note: a later note to the rear of the frame reads: 1. Egyptian Cloth from gown, 2. Early Christian Coptic 2nd - 4th cent AD, 3. From Akh(?) 4. grenfell
