English, c1825, in unplated carbon steel with ebony handles, with large amputation saw marked Cluley, original but unsigned bow-type metacarpel saw, forceps and one amputation knife marked Cluley, other instruments unmarked with some replacements by Evans (and one knife by Savigny), all in velvet-lined, fitted mahogany case measuring 44cm across.
