English, dated 1863, unmarked, label to the lid reads 'D BROWNE PENRITH Made from oak taken from St Andrews Church 1863' each curve made from German silver, the first engraved 'Baylock Carlisle' and all others engraved with the number and 'D B'
Note: most railway curves are made from pear or boxwood, this is the first time we have seen a set made from German Silver.
