A Rare Perspective Rolling Centrolinead, Stanley

English, c.1880, the rule engraved 'Stanleys Rolling Centrolinead, Great Turnstile London; constructed of heavy guage brass with interchangable numbered wheels of different sizes in a French polished mahogany case, case 42cm

Footnote: The centrolinead was invented by Peter Nicholson, a British mathematician and architect, in 1814. It was used to construct 2-point perspective drawings where one or both vanishing points existed outside the drawing board, this instrument would apear to be a take on Nicholsons design built by Stanley.
