A Chemists Apothecary Tincture Press

English, c.1880, unsigned bus marked in the casting 920, with cast iron frame and stand with wheel at the top on a square threaded bar, the stand finished in black enamel with gilt edging (worn) on 4 feet, with a cast iron enameled holder with spout at the bottom, total height 32cm

Note: Tincture presses were used by pharmacists and apothecaries to extract oils or juices from plants by compression. often the item to be compressed would be held in a muslin bag white been compressed.
