An extremely fine 19th Century Apothecary Chest

English, c.1870, constructed of top quality dark mahogany, French polished, which is protected by a leather outer case, on the lid of the case is a flush brass handle with a Ducal Coronet and the letters EC ?? possibly for the Duke of Cumberland, the rectangular lid opening to reveal 14 clear glass 8 x 3 x 4 cm bottles in 2 rows of 7 all empty with no labels each with octagonal necks and chiseled stoppers, below is a drawer lined with red velvet with 4 divisions for 3 of 4 bottles on the right, on the left is a posterior 2.5 x 6 cm division for a measure in front and the right side of which is division for a spatula and weight, in front of this a compartment 14.5 x 5 cm for scales in each corner of which is a covered box 4.5 x 3.5 cm, the left-hand box contains a document concerning apothecaries weights, height: 15 cm, width 27 cm, depth 11 cm
