18th Century Gilt Mirror

An 18th-century gilt frame bevel edged mirror with vase and scrolling acanthus crest and bound reeded border; by repute salvaged from the bombed Portsmouth Museum housed in the former town hall, first opened in 1895 and destroyed in the Blitz, 75 cm H overall

Missing some areas of gesso missing from around the frame, commensurate with being rescued from the bombsite

Estimated at £60 - £100
