Daguerreotype by Cornelius Jabez Hughes, 5x6 inch with "Hughes Monteith Rooms, Glasgow' stamped on mat. Hughes was an assistant to Mayall until he moved to Glasgow in the late 1840s. He operated from his Monteith Rooms until 1855 when they were taken over by J. Werge.

Condition: Corrosion to mat, moisture droplets under cover glass affecting the image. Strong image with subtle tinting.
