Large & Early Electromagnet, W. Ladd

English, c.1865, plaque reads 'W. Ladd 11 & 12 Beak Street, Regents Street W.' , solid French polished wooden base with heavy iron stand supporting 2 brass bobins wound with fabric-covered copper wire providing 2 seperate coils to each bobin, allowing the coils to be connected in serise or parallel, complete with 2 electromagnetic focus points, with brass connectors to the front, weight 23kg height 36cm - we did test the coils with a 6V suppy and can confim that they work well as an electromagnet

Note: According to Clifton William Ladd was at 11 & 12 Beak Street between 1861 & 1872
