A Leica M3 Black Paint Rangefinder Body

1961, black paint, serial no. 1038874, with Leitz Summitar f/2 50mm lens, chrome, serial no. 978484, body, P, shutter working, lens, VG, complete with after-market rapid rewind attachment

Note: Crudely engraved on the base plate is the name "UZZLE", which may refer to Magnum Photos photographer Burk Uzzle. Inside the camera is a service sticker dated 4/21/89, indicating a repair performed by Pro-Photo Repair & Sales. The technician who carried out the work was Dickran Baghdassarian, a master camera repair specialist.

Unfortunately, upon contacting the shop, we were informed of Dickran’s passing just two months ago, in August, and therefore we were unable to confirm whether he personally knew Burk. Pro Photo commented: "I'm not sure if Dick knew Uzzle, but it wouldn't be unlikely - he certainly worked with many great photographers. Leica itself used to send customers to him specifically because he was the only person they knew who would do certain repairs."

We have reached out to Burk but have not yet received a reply.
