English, C.late 18^th Century, engraved to the pullout drawer tube ‘W WATKINS St James Street LONDON’ the telescope on large lacquered brass table tripod on folding cabriole legs compass joint at the top supporting the French polished tapered wooden body, repiece with single push/pill drawer tube, with rack and pinion adjustment to fine focus, single glass pre achromatic objective glass with dust cap, with 2 extra screw in eyepiece lenses all in the original case, lid with old repair to split, case 114cm long
