Major Maxwell Knight was a British intelligence officer and naturalist who had a unique passion for the study of animals. Knight was involved in the creation of the British Security Service, and he became an expert in counter-espionage during World War II. Despite his military career, Knight continued to be passionate about natural history and even had his own radio program called "Nature Parliament." In this program, he would discuss various topics related to the natural world, from the behavior of birds to the habits of insects.

Interestingly, Knight also had a connection to the world of James Bond. It is said that Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, based the character "M" on Maxwell Knight, whom he had known during the war. Knight was known for his intelligence and his ability to keep a cool head under pressure, which made him an ideal role model for the character of "M."
