majority English, 19^th Century, including: four English, 19^th Century, aneurysm needles, by Wood, steel with octagonal ebony handles with lacquered-brass ferrules; a 19^th Century, needle with wheel mechanism, steel and plated, with a wire bobbin contained within the bulbous ebony handle – 18.5cm. long; a quantity of bistouries, hooks, needles and scalpels by various makers with ebony, horn and lignum vitae handles, largest 17.3cm. long and smallest, 12.3cm. long; and two English, Dieffenbach’s ‘Bulldog’ forceps, steel, two by Weiss London and a further small steel forcep with sliding mechanism – 5.4cm. long (2) and 4.5cm. long (1)
