Condition Report:
Possibly a period copy of a photograph. We have taken the frame out of the case. Old sealing paper has been removed at some point leaving gum and traces of paper to the rear of the frame and back of the daguerreotype. The gilt mask has left an oxidised impression around the image which extends behind the mask.
