Isaiah West Taber had travelled to San Francisco in search of gold. After working for a photographic studio between 1864-71, he set up his own studio. Taber printed and published work for other photographers. Sadly, in the 1906 earthquake, most of his stock was destroyed.
The City of Peking and her sister ship, The City of Tokio were the 2 largest vessels built in the U.S at the time.
