An unusual collection of maps with two titled ‘ESSENTIAL TRAFFIC ROUTES QUARRIES AND DUMPS OF ROADSTONE’ and two titled DORSET & PARTS OF WILTS, HANTS, DEVON & SOMERSET, CLASSIFIED RODS ESSENTIAL TRAFFIC ROUTES QUARRIES AND DUMPS OF ROADSTONE, with all maps trimmed at the bottom but one with legible label which reads ‘516^th Field Survey Company R.E. October 1940

Note: these maps were believed to have been used by the home guard to block essential and main roads with stones should the Nazis have invaded.
