A Imperial Standard Yard For The City Of Liverpool, By Avery

English, Dated 1937, engraved ‘CITY OF LIVERPOOL’ and ‘W & T Avery Ltd’, at the end are hallmark stamps for 1937, 1945 and 1953 with stamps for GR VI and ER II, the rule is constructed of machined cast brass finished in lacquer, beveled edge divided into 36 inches with the 1st, 2nd and 35th inch divided into 100ths of an inch, with two turned and polished Lignum Vitae handles with lacquered brass screws for lifting the yard out of the box, mahogany box with lock (no key) 2 catches, brass plaque to the lid engraved ‘CITY OF LIVERPOOL, STANDARD YARD, W & T AVERY Ltd’ case length 117cm.
