Four Hearing Aids

a conversation tube hearing aid, c.1900, possibly a E.B. Meyrowitz Model 2x-type, celluloid earphone and mouthpiece with woven fabric-covered tube (restored damage to the mouthpiece) – 115cm. (length); a London, mid-20th Century, telescopic ‘banjo style’ ear trumpet hearing aid, possibly by R.J. Dowling of London for Medresco (Medical Research Council), lacquered-brass and oxidised metal, with dish-like bell, stamped OL.331 on tube – 37cm. (length, extended); a London, c. 1930s, Ardente “Phantom” earphone hearing aid, by The Ardente Hearing Aid, manufactured and sold by R.H. Dent, 309 Oxford Street, London, England, 1920-1930, missing battery and headband, in leatherette, plush-lined case – 26.5cm. x 5cm. x 3cm.; and an early 20th Century, pocket ear trumpet, oxidised brass, dome-shaped with ornate grill and adjustable earpiece, contained in original animal skin case (damaged) -- 11cm. (length)
